- Centre for Joined Up Sustainability Transformations (JUST) – pursuing socially just, people centred and ‘joined up’ sustainability transformations. The JUST Centre is multi-million-pound investment by the Economic and Social Research Council, directed by Sherilyn MacGregor.
- Sustainable Consumption Institute - Exploring how we can align a personal desire for a better life, with a shared need for a better future.
- Collective actions, social movements – a working group at the Sustainable Consumption Institute organised by Simin Fadaee and Luke Yates.
- Climate Just - A web tool that assists local authorities and other public bodies in considering areas of climate vulnerability, involving John O’Neill.
- One Bin to Rule Them All – a research project to improve household plastic recycling, involving Helen Holmes as Co-Investigator and Social Science Lead.
- Towards Inclusive Environmental Sustainability – a research project about immigration experiences and everyday sustainability practices in the UK, led by Sherilyn MacGregor.
- Environmental Politics Group – a group of scholars in the Politics Department working on the political economy, political philosophy, and political science of the environment.
- Environmental Economics Research Area – research in the Economics Department covering environmental economics.
- Environmental Sustainability in Engaged Philosophy – scholars in the Philosophy Department promoting environmental sustainability in research.
